Division 3 v Bunbrosna

After draws with St Joseph’s and Multyfarnham, and defeats to Killucan and Maryland in our previous four outings, we finally registered our first win in Division 3 of the All-County League against Bunbrosna last Saturday evening.

With the sun shining at MJS Builds St James’ Park, a strong start laid the foundations for a 3-8 to 0-10 victory. Padraig Carton and Darragh Coffey scored goals either side of points from Danny Scully and Conor Delaney (two) to leave us 2-3 to 0-1 up at the end of the first quarter. The visitors fought back in the second quarter, but we still led by 2-5 to 0-5 at the break thanks to further points from Delaney and James Finnegan.

We resumed with a point from Delaney and another major from Carton to extend our advantage. Scully slotted two more points from play before Bunbrosna narrowed the gap with a late brace.

Team: Niall Rabbitte; Martin Ward, James Fox, Colin Draper; Conor Carroll, Brendan McMahon, Mark Wrafter; Darragh Coffey, Joey O’Neill; Danny Scully, Conor Delaney, Micheál Coffey; James Finnegan, Padraig Carton, Cathal Finn.

National Spring Clean Day

There was a fantastic turnout of club members and supporters for the Kilbeggan Tidy Towns' National Spring Clean Day last Saturday morning.

The weather couldn’t have been any better as the community came together to play their part in the national anti-litter campaign. Thank you to Kilbeggan Tidy Towns and SWEETS Kilbeggan for allowing us to participate and for the refreshments afterwards.

Mothers & Others Pub Quiz

A table quiz in aid of our Mothers & Others team will take place in McNamara’s Bar and Lounge on Friday, May 17 at 9pm.

All proceeds will go towards the cost of the team’s trip to New York in October for a blitz involving 34 other clubs from Ireland. Entry is €40 for a table of four and €10 thereafter.

Win Coldplay tickets!

We have two corporate tickets to give away to see Coldplay in Croke Park on Sunday, September 1.

Tickets for the raffle are now available on our ClubZap App at a cost of €5 for one or €10 for three. They will also be available to buy at various locations in the near future. The Coldplay tickets are kindly sponsored by Martin and Sharon Dowdall, while printing of the tickets is sponsored by Midland Cladding.

Last week’s lucky numbers were 7, 11, 18 and 19. Joe Coffey and Josie Smith were the Match 3 winners.

This week’s jackpot is €7,450. Tickets can be purchased in local shops or online. Thank you for your continued support.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the Troy family, Cappalahy, on Colm’s sudden passing last week. May he rest in peace.
