IFC v Multyfarnham
All roads lead to TEG Cusack Park next Saturday, September 7 for our final IFC Section B fixture against Multyfarnham at 4pm.
This is a huge game for both clubs, with the winner progressing to the quarter-finals and gaining promotion to Section A, which comes with the added bonus of guaranteed intermediate football in 2025 and ’26. A draw will do Multy who are two points ahead of us on the table. However, a Kilbeggan win would see us pip them on the head-to-head rule.
After a disappointing performance against St Mary’s, Rochfortbridge last time out, the players are eager to make amends and grasp this second chance which presents itself. Games between the two maroon and white clubs have been incredibly tight in recent years – they drew in Division 3 of the League earlier this season – and this one promises to be no different.
Best of luck to the lads.
Lotto
Last week’s lucky numbers were 10, 16, 17 and 19. There was no jackpot winner; the four Match 3 winners were Johnny Quinn, Geraldine Mannion, Kate McCabe and Aíne Egan.
This week’s jackpot is €10,300 Don’t forget our new lotto box in Centra Kilbeggan which allows you to enter our weekly draw by filling in a lotto ticket and dropping it into the box. Draw takes place every Tuesday afternoon.
Sympathy
Deepest sympathy is extended to the Ryan family, Ballinderry (Moate Road) on the passing of Margaret last week.
Predeceased by her husband Paddy, who was synonymous with Kilbeggan Community Games for many years, Margaret was a lovely lady whose youngest son Joe has helped with underage coaching in our club in recent times.
