AGM

Our AGM will take place on Sunday, December 8 at 7pm in the GP Room of Scoil an Chlochair.

All members are requested to attend. Closing date for nominations is Wednesday, December 4. Nominations should be emailed to secretary.kilbegganshamrocks.westmeath@gaa.ie. Alternatively, nomination forms can be obtained from James Claffey on 087 281 9741.

With our adult ladies team returning next year, Jill Brabazon, Gillian Heeney and Emily O’Brien were added to our committee at last week’s monthly meeting.

U14 Shield final

Commiserations to our U14 boys on their Shield final loss to neighbours Lilliput Gaels under lights in Ballinagore last Thursday night. The lads made great progress this year under their mentors Fergal Fox and Shane McDonnell and did themselves proud.

JFC ‘B’ quarter-final v Castledaly

We are away to Castledaly in the JFC ‘B’ quarter-final next Sunday, October 17 at 11am.

All support for the team would be greatly appreciated.

Lotto

Last week’s lucky numbers were 5, 9, 13 and 26. There was no jackpot winner; the Match 3 winners were Brendan Nannery and Brenda Smith.

This week’s jackpot is €11,800. You can take part in our lotto online or at Centra, Mace and Whelan’s. Seoidin Rochford is also selling tickets outside Centra or at matches in MJS St James' Park some weekends.

Social night in Locke’s

Our committee members and underage mentors were treated to a wonderful evening by the team at Kilbeggan Whiskey last Friday.

Whiskey tasting and a story about how Kilbeggan Shamrocks played Carrick (Dalystown) in a game on land owned by the Locke family way back in 1891 were among the highlights. A big thank you to Rose, Alicia and all the crew at Locke’s for their amazing hospitality and the lovely gifts. Thanks also to Chris Guilfoyle for providing the music.
