Division 3 v St Joseph’s
We got our season off to a winning start against neighbours St Joseph’s in front of a big crowd at MJS Builds St James’ Park last Saturday afternoon.
Trailing by a point at half-time, we finished strongly to run out 2-12 to 3-6 winners with Conor Delaney and new recruit Ray Kennedy getting the goals. Well done to both sets of players for serving up an exciting contest on a heavy pitch and under the new rules.
Our next game in Division 3 of the ACFL is against Coralstown/Kinnegad under lights in Kinnegad on Tuesday, March 4 at 8pm.
Team: Joey O’Neill; Martin Ward, James Fox, Mel Kiernan; Micheál Coffey, James Hanlon, Mark Wrafter; Ray Kennedy, Padraig Carton; Cillian Rochford, Shaun Pidgeon, Darragh Coffey; Colin Draper, Conor Delaney, Diarmuid Egan. Subs: Nigel Scally, Danny Scully, Naill Rabbitte, Keith Corcoran, Arthur O’Rourke, Jack Mullins, Michael Carton and Paul Fennell.

It’s now a two-horse race between James Fox and Mark Wrafter in the winners’ section after Week 5 of our annual GAA Allianz League Last Man Standing competition.

Sympathy
Deepest sympathy is extended to the Lynch family on the passing of Anne Maher, late of Waterville, Co. Kerry and Tullamore. Anne was Cliodhna's mother, mother-in-law of our underage mentor Stephen and grandmother of our underage players Sadbh, Naoise and Iarlaith.
May she rest in peace.
