Division 3 v Multyfarnham

After our first round fixture against Bunbrosna fell victim to the wet weather the previous weekend, we belatedly opened our All-County League Division 3 campaign with an excellent 1-12 to 1-10 win away to Multyfarnham under lights last Friday night.

The home side opened up an early 0-3 to 0-0 lead before we reduced the deficit to the minimum. Multy had restored their three-point advantage, 1-4 by 0-4, by half-time, but a goal from new recruit Jack Molloy and a Nigel Scally two-pointer helped turn things around in the second half.

Meanwhile, last Sunday morning’s scheduled Division 5 encounter against Castletown-Finea/Coole/Whitehall was postponed due to unplayable pitches at both venues. It will now be played at a later date.

Team: Conor Mullins; Martin Ward, James Fox, Mel Kiernan; Joey O’Neill, Shaun Pidgeon, Mark Wrafter; Ray Kennedy, Dean Fitzgerald, Jacob Browne, Nigel Scally, Micheál Coffey; Jack Molloy, Darragh Coffey, Conor Delaney. Subs: Brendan McMahon, Keith Corcoran, Kyle McMahon, Michael Joyce, John Victor and Davin Egan.

Lotto

Last week’s lucky numbers were 3, 7, 16 and 18. There was no jackpot winner. The Match 3 winners were Aíne Grennan and Alan McCormack.

This week’s jackpot is €6,500. Make sure to buy your tickets online or at Centra, Mee's Costcutter and Whelan’s. Tickets are also on sale outside Centra every Saturday and Sunday. Thank you for your continued support.

Last Man Standing

There are just six people left in both the main competition and the second chance competition of our annual GAA National League Last Man Standing competition.

The Monaghan hurlers’ defeat to Warwickshire was responsible for most of the casualties last weekend. Next weekend is hurling only.
