JFC ‘B’
Our men’s second team opened their JFC ‘B’ Section C campaign with an excellent 3-22 to 4-12 victory away to Garrycastle last Thursday evening.
They have two more JFC ‘B’ games coming up this week, starting with the visit of The Downs to St James’ Park on Tuesday, July 7 at 7.30pm. They are also at home to neighbours Ballinagore in Round 3 on Sunday, July 12 at 11am.
Ladies v St Loman’s
There was disappointment for our ladies last Friday evening at St James’ Park when a 2-15 to 5-9 defeat to St Loman’s cost them a place in the Division 5 League final.
Despite being understrength, they led by 0-14 to 1-2 at half-time and looked to be home and hosed when Aíne Pettit and Ciara Heavin added goals in the second half. But boosted by the introduction of some of their senior players, St Loman’s finished with a flourish to leave with a three-point victory.
The attention now turns to the Junior Championship which gets underway in the coming weeks.
