The late Nicky McCormack
We were saddened to learn of the passing of Nicky McCormack, Corgrove, Streamstown last weekend.
A great character and GAA man, Nicky was heavily involved as a mentor with successful Kilbeggan/St Joseph's underage boys’ and girls' teams over many years. Although a staunch St Joseph's clubman, Nicky was very proud of his father Brian's achievement in winning a JFC and JHC double with Kilbeggan in 1959.
Deepest sympathy is extended to Nicky’s family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
More silverware for U14 boys
Congratulations to our U14 boys on winning the Pat Gill Memorial Cup in Tyrrellspass last Saturday.
They defeated the host club in a thrilling contest to add to the Division 6 Championship title they won the previous weekend.
Wave of Light
Baby Loss Awareness Week culminates with the Global Wave of Light this Thursday, October 15.
Everyone in the community is invited to a special evening of remembrance, love and connection in Shanette St James’ Park at 7pm. We will all light a candle to remember and honour babies who died during pregnancy, at birth or shortly after.
Pitch closed
The pitch at Shanette St. James’ Park is closed until early in the New Year due to drainage works. The Astro remains open as usual. Thank you for your understanding.
